Ollie Wimbush

Ollie Wimbush is a stage designer, game designer, and writer, as well as the artistic director of Kickback Theatre.

Born in Bristol, Ollie has always had a passion for storytelling. They studied Drama and English Literature at the University of Birmingham, where they worked on countless theatrical and digital productions to develop their skills at design, editing, producing, and writing. Since co-founding Kickback Theatre, Ollie has been able to use these abilities to contribute significantly to both the company’s live and digital productions, as well as its general management.

Ollie has also been able to successfully apply the nuances of scenic design and immersive staging for live events to video games, collaborating with Senior Game Designer James Kotzian (Volition Games) on the suspenseful first-person demo, Paradox. Ollie hopes to continue developing their narrative and level design skills on future projects, demonstrating their understanding of player immersion and both Unity and Unreal 5 engines.

Additionally, Ollie has gained considerable events & organisation management experience through their coordination of production fundraisers and socials, as well as a sold out 100-person capacity Summer Ball. Ollie led the organisation of Kickback Theatre's live productions I Don't Know What Else to Say and The Girls' Guide to Good Sex, with both receiving widespread critical praise and near sold out runs.

Looking to develop their career further and create long-lasting professional connections, Ollie now resides in San Francisco. Here, they hope to continue working on high-quality, sustainable productions, and demonstrate their passion, dedication and professionalism.
